Feeling Thankful at MFV

I'm thankful for my children, they always make me laugh and keep me on my toes.
-Danni Masterson, Marshall Sow

I am so thankful for these ladies that I share my joys and concerns with.  The always have my back

-Gloria Brown, A/R Clerk

Around Thanksgiving every year, we go pick out a Christmas tree at Frosty's Cut & Choose in West Jefferson, NC. My husband and I started this tradition in 2021 when we got married. We are thankful we get to do this!

-Megan Jensen,  Recruiter

I am so thankful for Thanksgiving week and the holiday because my family and I get together and decorate my home and my yard. It is so nice to be able to spend time with family. We can be creative and show it to the whole world. We’ve been doing this for the last 25 years. Everyone in the community enjoys it and I have many people that stop by just to walk through my yard and see the things that we have done and created. This is a time to be thankful for family and friends and the whole community. I love this tradition that we have together. As you can see in the picture my grandson fixing his own tree, means our tradition will continue for many years. The joy of this tradition going on for 3 generations is worth more than anything in the world to me. The Lord has blessed me with a very creative family that loves to celebrate the holidays together.

-Jane Munoz, Taylors Bridge Manager

Thanksgiving is the reason Jim and I live in NC! A traditional day of giving thanks for the Wolfe family involved a huge production. Elizabeth and George Wolfe had 7 kids and 21 grandkids. Eventually Thanksgiving dinner involved cooking for well over 50 people, including a growing number of great grand kids. That is when Grandma (Elizabeth Wolfe) announced “It’s time for you to have dinner at your own homes, with your grandkids” So we took turns hosting Grandma and Grandpa and went off on our own. My cousin Barbara Wolfe- Lee lives in Tarboro NC and invited Jim and I to join her, every year. She keeps the traditions of the Wolfe family, with her own southern twists. After a decade of enjoying the NC weather and hospitality we decided to move here!

The pictures attached:  Barbara and David Lee’s home, their amazing kitchen and family, and a wonderful collage of one year with Jims Mom, Genevieve Hill, attending. She attended many times, as she stayed with us through the holidays every year.

-Susan Wolfe-Hill, FOH River Landing Clubhouse Manager

I am so thankful for my family. I am so thankful that we all enjoy spending time together and making many many memories. I think the biggest blessing is being able to sit in church with them and serve God together. Love My Fam!

-Brenda Ford, Maintenance Admin

Mills and I are thankful to be able to deliver Thanksgiving Meals to the 6 local Law Enforcement Offices in our surrounding area! Happy Thanksgiving to those who serve us everyday!

-Larry George, Director of Hospitality and Club Operations

There are so many things to be thankful for in life: just being here with health and work, I and my family are a big blessing. For 2 years we were dealing with a financial problem with our bank, and finally we did not clear things as we were hoping, but God helped us to cover that debt we did not receive. For 2 years we were dealing with stress, and we were not enjoying life as we were supposed to. Don’t let material things put your mood down; enjoy life and be appreciative of everything around you. Things happen for a reason. Thank God for life.

-Jose Zuniga, Riverfront 1 Manager

I am thankful for my co-workers, I couldn’t ask for better people to work with!

-Carmen Weeks, Marketing Specialist
