Our River Landing team attended the Coach Bill Dooley Education Foundation Luncheon on February 6th at Cape Fear Community College. The foundation’s mission is to award scholarships to student-athletes who have achieved honor and recognition through their academic achievement, personal conduct, and participation in athletics. We're happy to show support for their mission!

Safety Tips

What we can do to prevent accidents and injuries at work

Be sure all team members assigned to do a task have been properly trained and are on the same page
Always use the right tools for the job and have the correct PPE on hand

Contusions, Bruises, Sprains, Strains, Scrapes, and Insect Bites

Usually, these minor injuries can be handled with local first aid treatment
Use ice & CTC (cross-the-counter meds - Tylenol or Ibuprofen)
Reporting as a near miss is still a must during the shift in which it occurs
If these minor injuries continue to cause pain and discomfort it needs to be reported and further discussion about medical intervention is required

Lacerations, elevated sprains, strains, or possible fractures

Should be reported as a near miss
Attempt first aid if applicable and if not, a conversation should include further medical intervention

Once you have been approved to see a medical provider

You may be assigned restricted duty and if so, it should be followed 24 hours, 7 days a week, not just while you are at work
It is your responsibility (the injured person) to comply with the doctor’s orders
All medical treatment should be approved, scheduled, and attended; if not, you will be responsible for the cost of any medical visit on your own

Effective MNGR 3 ( NC/MO - English Only)

Course members will be able to understand and apply the principles of good motivation, adopt the appropriate style of management, delegate work effectively, plan projects and their own time effectively, influence staff, deal with grievance and disciplining, and contribute effectively at meetings. This course is designed for those in leadership roles and is split into 3 day-long sessions over the course of 6 months.
