Career Fair Visits

Our Murphy Family staff spent a day with our local high school students at the Duplin County 10th Grade Career and College Fair at the Duplin Events Center! Our marketing and hospitality teams were on-site with games, prizes, and swag.

John Wesley Hairr, a recruiter from our MFV HR team, spent the day with the students of the College of the Ozarks in Missouri and talked to them about the various careers and opportunities available at Murphy Family Ventures. We love spending time with our future leaders!


Our Mad Boar Staff is Shamrockin’

The color green was seen all across our MFV locations on St. Patrick’s Day, but our Mad Boar staff took home the prize during their St. Patrick’s Day Shamrockin’ & Rollin’ event. They hosted karaoke, dancing, bingo, and live music all while still preparing food, serving, and keeping the party going for the customers. They even had a costume contest. We think the Boar won! Thank you to the Mad Boar team for all your hard work at this event.

This course covers basic human resource competencies, policies, HR laws, and regulations such as how to hire and fire, and how to administer wages and salaries.

Lunch & Learn - Managing Organizational Change (NC/MO - English only)

Each day on the job can bring change. Whether it be positive or negative, both can be a cause of stress in the workplace. The mark of a mentally healthy individual or organization is the ability to handle change appropriately.

S.T.A.R.T (NC/MO Spanish Only)

The course covers our basic philosophies on safety such as accident reduction techniques.

ACTION DAY: Improving Performance (NC/MO - English & Spanish)

Documenting discipline should enable the employee to improve, rather than frustrate or prohibit management from achieving their desired goals. This course is for managers and assistant managers and teaches the guidelines for effectively documenting discipline through facts, objectives, solutions, and actions.

Effective MNGR 4 ( NC/MO - English Only)

Course members will be able to understand and apply the principles of good motivation, adopt the appropriate style of management, delegate work effectively, plan projects and their own time effectively, influence staff, deal with grievance and disciplining, and contribute effectively at meetings. This course is designed for those in leadership roles and is split into 3 day-long sessions over the course of 6 months.

Assertiveness (NC/MO - Spanish Only)

Do you stand up for your rights? Does anyone listen when you try to make a point? This course is designed to enable the learner to have more control over his/her behavior, be more confident, gain respect from others, and avoid being manipulated by others.

MFV has a new partnership with the University of Mount Olive (UMO) to offer a tuition scholarship program for all employees. This means that you can receive between 10-30% off of your tuition. Combine this with MFV’s current tuition reimbursement that is already offered, and this is an opportunity you will not want to pass up! Celebrating Employee Anniversaries

Miroslav Kuba - Peters Creek

15 years

Miroslav Kuba has been with MFV for 15 years! He is known around the Peters Creek farm for encouraging the staff with his pep talks, silly slogans, and signature sayings.

Miroslav's manager, Kris Hairr, said, "Mirek can repair almost anything in and around the barns, from mowers to feed motors, he's worked on about everything at one time or another. He's a top-notch stockman and takes enormous pride in achieving consistent results along with high production. " Congratulations Miroslav”!
