Dell Murphy Receives Accolades
Our President & CEO Wendell “Dell” Murphy was recently honored for all of his hard work and dedication to MFV. He was named one of Business North Carolina's 2023 Power List of Most Influential Leaders in Agriculture again this year! Congratulations Dell and thank you for your leadership!
Spring Farm Trainings
Spring training on the farm is underway and the first stop was NC Wolf & Pender 2! Teams participated in a JENGA leadership game curated by our Training and Development Manager Tomeka Robinson. "The exercise confirmed what I believed to be true, that our goal to create a team that works together as one to solve farm related issues was possible," stated Farm Manager Mary Brown. Although it was a competition, they were truly one team with one mission. Great job NC Wolf & Pender 2!

Managing Hot Weather
With hot weather comes the chance of dehydration. It occurs when you use or lose more fluid than you take in, and your body doesn't have enough water and other fluids to carry out its normal functions. This can easily happen when working and spending time in hot weather. It is very important to know the signs.
SIGNS OF DEHYDRATION
· Headache
· Muscle cramps
· Nausea or vomiting
· Dizziness or fainting
· Fatigue
HOW TO PREVENT DEHYDRATION
· Stay hydrated
· Wear loose clothing
· Drink water (8 oz. every 15-20 minutes when performing moderate work in the heat)
· Schedule outdoor jobs in the cooler times of the day
· Take breaks as needed is shaded areas
· Train team members to identify dehydration symptoms
