401K Plans Moving to Fidelity

Many of you are receiving emails from Fidelity 401k – they are our new provider for 401k. These emails are important for you to take action if you have a 401k Loan.  You are being directed to their website http://www.netbenefits.com to create your unique user name and password. This will allow you to view your 401k account online. Once you have enrolled online you will need to go to the website www.fidelity.com/loans and set up a monthly loan payment using your debit/credit card. Fidelity will no longer accept payroll deduction loan payments. These payroll loan payments will stop once you make payment arrangements. You must take action ASAP. If you do not have an email on file, Fidelity will mail out instructions. If you do not take action then you are subject to the loan defaulting and being responsible for taxes on the balance owed. Please contact HR with any questions.

River Landing Banquet Staff Takes Leadership Classes

River Landing Banquet Manager Dean Bunch is planning for the future, and his goal is to start a new leadership development program in his department.  He recently invited his team members to take the course Worker to Leader which provides an overview for hourly employees on what it takes to make the transition into leadership. That process is not an easy one but can be a positive journey for those that are well-prepared. During this course, participants took a DISC assessment which is one of the six Leadership Inventories available through the training department via a new program called Test Gorilla. Managers can receive a personalized link to share with job candidates, new hires, and their current staff. If you are interested in receiving a link or want to learn more, contact Talent and Development Manager Tomeka Robinson at trobninson@murfam.com.

Employee Spotlight

Chris Davis - Information Services

We're putting the spotlight on Chris Davis who has been with MFV for over 18 years! He currently works in Missouri as an I.S. specialist, but he has held many other positions within the company such as herd tech, production HOD, assistant manager, and maintenance coordinator. Missouri Senior HR Specialist Lori Forster says, "We have been fortunate to have Chris on our team because he has been instrumental in setting up all of Missouri's I.S. projects like installing time clocks and wiring equipment in the office. He always goes above and beyond to keep operations running, and he never hesitates to go to a farm on his days off if an issue arises. We value his hard work and dedication." In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Wendy and son Rayden. Thank you Chris!

Here’s what His Coworkers had to say!

We rely so much on Chris’ knowledge, skills, and willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done. He’s one of those quiet, humble men who dosen’t want to be in the spotlight, but he is so deserving of this recognition! Thank you, Chris, for all you do!
— Tami D.
Great job Chris! We are so blessed to have you in the I.S. Dept! Thanks for all you do!
— Tavia C.
Well deserved recognition Chris! Thanks for all you do for MFV!!
— Kim J.

Educational Opportunities

Safety First

Unsafe Behaviors are Not Allowed at MFV

It is true, unsafe behaviors do lead to events that cost our company.  It may be in the form of lost money, lost wages, lost productivity, lost morale, or a lost of team work. We need to ensure that our safety program continues to focus on “ DOING THE RIGHT THING” to prevent incidents and accidents from occurring. Every time you report to work it is very important to watch out for each other and to make sure each team member has received the proper training. If a hazard does exist for the task that has been assigned (example-moving large animals, cooking with hot grease, or the need for PPE), it is VERY IMPORTANT to review each hazard before the task begins.  Keep everyone in the loop and communicate and educate as we take our safety program to the next level!

- Mike Brown, Safety Manager
